Jeff Barnum is a co-founder of Reos Partners, an international organisation dedicated to fostering innovation in and across complex social systems. At Reos, Jeff helps businesses, government and non-government organisations achieve tangible progress on their most important problems and opportunities. Jeff is currently co-designing and co-facilitating several Reos change labs, in which key stakeholders work together to address systemic challenges within and across their systems.

Jeff’s approach to social innovation emphasises the interweaving of individual freedom, creativity, self-transformation, and service to others. He has expertise in process design, facilitation, creativity, and dialogue.

Prior to his work with Reos, Jeff was an associate of Generon Consulting in Cambridge, MA, and consulted with various startups. From 1996-1999, Jeff designed and facilitated creative processes for business, government, and cultural leaders at "learning festivals" and conferences with the European organisation IDRIART (the Institute for the Development of Intercultural Relations through the Arts). In this context, he co-designed and -managed interdisciplinary and intercultural conferences focused on peace and solidarity in the Balkans after the Bosnian-Serbian conflict; co-founded the Wilhelm Ernst Barkoff Institute's Save Our Senses Network, a European network dedicated to the protection and cultivation of the human senses; and organised international events for young people.

Jeff completed a bachelor’s degree in Art and Art History at Rice University (Houston) in 1993, and a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Maine College of Arts (Portland) in 2003. In 1995, Jeff completed the Goethean Studies program at Rudolf Steiner College (Sacramento), a year-long course exploring the links between contemplative practice, scientific observation, and artistic work.

His blend of artistic and consulting practices will find expression in twenty works of art included in Power and Love: A Theory and Practice of Social Change by Adam Kahane, a fellow co-founder of Reos Partners.

Complementing his work with Reos, Jeff continues to make art, write, and raise a family in Northern California.
