Patrick McNamara is a consultant and social entrepreneur focusing on innovation, sustainability, and transformation with organizations that value positive social impact. He helps organizations and networks move through difficult change such as growth, merging cultures, and restructuring. His current work is in large-scale change, strategic planning, and effectiveness – convening multi-stakeholder summits to help organizations address complex issues and create new, adaptive systems. In sustainability consulting, Patrick helps organizations develop a sustainability plan, incubate new offerings, and establish green teams to create a culture of sustainability and innovation.
With his MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, Patrick began his career in consulting with organizations including Motorola, The Mac Group, and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young. A strong international interest and proficiency in several languages led him to consulting assignments in Europe, South America, Asia as well as the United States in the areas of marketing, culture change, and organizational development.
In recent years, Patrick’s work has followed his interest in social innovation, sustainability, and social impact. He has helped develop a new community input process for the California State Office of AIDS, done organizational development work at the United Nations, and helped facilitate a merger at the Communications Leadership Institute. Patrick has also been in leadership roles in several groups that focus on diversity issues. He is currently a facilitator in the Interpersonal Dynamics course at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Patrick enjoys urban life, hiking, primitive camping, gourmet cooking, independent films, symphony, opera, spiritualities, and learning new things.
