Matt Gelbwaks
London
organizational transformation, program leadership, process development, facilitation

Matt specializes in optimizing organizational throughput, helping teams better meet expectations and achieve objectives set forth by senior management and boards of directors. Through the abstracted application of agile methods and the incorporation of the principals of integrity and collaboration, the objective is to teach that the self-realized team can always produce more than the disjoined sum of its individuals.

Through implementing an abstracted Deming Cycle to all business activities, we can encapsulate the four key elements of the approach as:

* The act of planning, not the existence of a plan
* Decisive execution and failing fast if necessary, not tentative implementation without institutional learning
* Retrospection and improvement, rather than aspersion and blame
* Collective soul, rather than individual heroes

Matt is currently working on The Finance Lab and The Metropolitan Agriculture programs and helping out on a number of new initiatives as well as working with the teams to integrate agile practices into the Change Lab process.

Previously, he consulted internationally and held Organizational and Program leadership positions at product companies such as Borland Software, Segway and Giesicke & Devrient; as well as services companies like Globant, Thoughtworks and TASC. He is recognized internationally as an expert in Project and Program Management as well as Organizational Structure. He speaks and publishes on these topics, as time permits.

Matt splits his time between London and his home in New Hampshire.
