Nathan is a social scientist combining methodologies from anthropology, sociology, phenomenology, and systems thought. He is an associate in the San Francisco office of Reos Partners, working to document and evolve social innovation processes.

Nathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master of Arts in Social Sciences issued jointly by Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, and the Univesity of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN) in Durban, South Africa. He has also studied at the Center for the Study of Social Systems (CSSS) at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. His graduate field research focused on informal social organization and the political agency of indigenous movements in Cochabamba and LaPaz, Bolivia.

He is interested in the complex relationships between ecosystems, systemic social behaviors, institutions, and the construction of social reality. Nathan loves improvisational music, and is an avid practitioner of internal Chinese martial arts.
